Long Beach Playground

Also known locally as "The Boat Park", this area is provides a flat site and good quality playground facilities. Located at picturesque Lower Sandy Bay the facilities overlook the beach and River Derwent. This playground underwent a major redevelopment in 2009 and is now probably the best playground in southern Tasmania with a huge array of play experiences available including: bouncers, slides, various climbing structures, sand play areas, a water pump, swings, things that move and spin and so much more. There is easy access to much of the playground and a dedicated swing for the disabled off to one side. This site has electric BBQ facilities nearby as well as a large enclosed shelter with a picnic facilities and toilets not too far away.
